About the Juniors

The new Knaresborough Town AFC Juniors set-up began with an idea that Knaresborough could definitely support another team playing in the Harrogate and District League (after all - Harrogate has 5) and a desire to provide something different to what was on offer at other clubs.

With a commitment to developing the childrens technical skills that modern European footballers are so good at and in an environment where they can have fun and express themselves; the plan was to only take on a limited number of children in each age so we could provide real coaching to those that really wanted to develop.

With the support of the senior club, the committee and the playing/coaching staff we began at U10s for season 2012/13 - a group of boys that coaches coming to Knaresborough had been coaching at other clubs for a number of years. Entering the boys in a newly formed development league - running parallel to the main H&D JFL - this team showed the potential of what the new club could acheive by going undefeated throughout the entire set of league fixtures.

With the foundation for the Knaresborough Town AFC Juniors now set, we are looking for likeminded, committed football parents to work with us to bring on different teams across different ages.

We now are up and running with two age groups - our original juniors now as an U12s team competing in the top Harrogate and District Division for their age group and U9s who this year compete in the York Mitchell League league.
